Tennessee RC&D Creativity Grant Rules & Guidelines Year 2016

Two (2) Tennessee Resource Conservation and Development Creativity Grant in the amount of $2.500.00 will be awarded to the winning councils judged to have proposed the most creative project which will benefit their community.

Who can apply
Regional RC&D Councils within the State of Tennessee that are current members of the Tennessee RC&D Council.  Click here for an application.

Dates and Deadlines
Applications must be received by June 15, 2016 and Project must be completed and reported by May 30, 2017.

The Grant awards will be announced at the 2016 Annual Tennessee RC&D Meeting. The Grant will be administered by the TN Council Communication Director. An unbiased judging committee will be appointed by the Communication Director.


  1. Achieve proper growth, protection and development of the land, water, air, forests, recreation, fish, wildlife and human resources
  2. Improve standard of living through community improvement & education
  3. Coordinate and promote RC&D interests and activities in Tennessee
  4. Cooperate with private and public entities concerned with conservation and development of Tennessee resources

Judging will place emphasis on the following:

  1. Identifying the mission; objective and strategies for implementation of the Project.  A completion date must be included
  2. Investing in and/or obtaining partners which will result in cost share matching funds on a 50-50 basis. Budget must be included
  3. Making effective use of volunteers. (Volunteer in-kind hours could be considered as part of the matching funds)
  4. Having successful publicity strategies
  5. Having a vision for the future sustainability of the project
  6. Sharing success story with other councils
